Lawton councilman arrested Saturday

Lawton City Councilman Jay Burk was behind bars Saturday at the Comanche County Detention Center after an encounter with Lawton police resulted in his arrest.

Southwest Ledger has confirmed Burk was arrested for at least two offenses, one of which corresponds with a Lawton Police Department arrest code for driving under the influence.

Additional details surrounding Burk’s arrest were not immediately available Saturday.
